Overview
The Visiting Scholar Program at the Faculty of Biotechnology, Ho Chi Minh City Open University is initiated to dedicate to passionate scholars from all reputed universities or research institutions worldwide. The program sincerely supports all eligible scholars visiting the university to diversify and sharpen our educational environment. In addition, this program opens the chance for deeper collaborations between the university and its partners. As a part of this program, the Faculty of Biotechnology (FoB) warmly welcomes all qualified scholars to visit our faculty for academic activities such as: scientific seminars, scientific networks, research interests, teaching activities……across our core subjects.
Duration of the program
Candidates are expected to visit the faculty for 5 to 10 working days.
Candidates shall be scheduled by mutual agreement of the faculty and appropriate administrator whenever possible in 2024.
Important dates
– Application period: From 01 August to 31 August 2024.
– Notification of acceptance: September 2024.
Eligibility
– Hold a doctoral degree.
– Have sufficient proficiency in the English language.
– Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor,
and Researcher from reputed universities or research
institutions worldwide.
– Teaching and research expertise: Biotechnology (focusing on biomedical/agricultural/environmental sciences) or Food sciences.
Financial support scheme
– Financial support package: 2,000,000 Vietnamese Dongs (two million VND)/scholar/working day. Please note that this financial support package is to afford your stay during the visiting period (e.g., meals, accommodation, transportation, etc.). The scholar should pay by himself/herself for other extra fees such as flight tickets and personal activities. – Please note that the local income tax (under the program) is going to be covered by the University (if applicable).
Required documents for application (written or translated and notarized in English)
– Certificate of employment.
– CV.
– Valid travel document (passport).
– Detailed working plan (5 to 10 days).
Health insurance requirements
– The scholar is required to apply for his/her own health insurance for the entire length of stay in Vietnam.

– The University will assist the scholar with visa application (visa fee is not covered).
– The original and/or legal documents can be required to be supplemented during the visa application process.
